JABAR EKSPRES – Chelsea interim coach, Frank Lampard, ended his tenure as coach with the Blues in the last week of the English Premier League match against Newcastle United.
Playing with the support of all supporters at Stamford Bridge stadium, London, Sunday, Lampard failed to give a beautiful closing gift after being held to a draw by Newcastle United, 1-1.
“It’s nice to say goodbye and have fun at the end with the supporters. They are amazing,” Frank Lampard said as quoted from the club’s official website, Sunday (5/28).
The English coach began his coaching career for the second time with Chelsea. Lampard became Chelsea coach for the first time on 2019 and fired in the year 2021 after not giving the Blues a promising performance.

Lampard, who is also a Chelsea legend, was re-appointed as interim coach to replace Graham Potter in April.
“I think Chelsea fans, and especially fans of the match, saw the situation I was in. It’s not easy to turn things around in a short time, that’s the reality, but I have given everything in this period and I am really connected to this club for life,” said Lampard.
Under Lampard’s care, Chelsea did not show a promising performance. During Lampard’s training, the Blues only recorded one win, two draws and eight defeats.
“I will be back again soon to watch Chelsea matches, I’m sure, and I will always be a fan of this football club,” said Lampard.
The result made the club owned by Todd Boehly this season without winning a title and had to settle for 12th place in the Premier League final standings with 44 points.
Chelsea have not announced the coach who will mix the Blues squad after being left by Lampard. But the name of coach Mauricio Pochettino is rumored to be anchored to Stamford Bridge soon.
