Roger Taylor ‘Queen’ Responds to Rumors of His Son Becoming Foo Fighters’ New Drummer

JABAR EKSPRES —Roger Taylor, drummer of Queen, recently responded to rumors of his son, Rufus Taylor, joining as the new drummer of Foo Fighters.

The rumors arose after Rufus participated in the Foo Fighters tribute concert for the late Taylor Hawkins.

Rufus at that time performed with a number of drummers such as Travis Barker, Nandi Bushell, to Shane Hawkins, son of the late Taylor Hawkins.

Meanwhile, Rufus himself is indeed the godson of the late Taylor Hawkins.

Roger also praised his son as a talented young drummer who joined the band The Darkness.

“He turned into a scary and great drummer with The Darkness. My son, he’s very strong and he’s become very, very good. I can’t say anything else!” said Roger Taylor during an interview with BBC Radio 2 quoted on Friday (28/4).

Roger also praised how cool Rufus looked at the concert with Foo Fighters at a tribute concert for the late Taylor Hawkins.

However, Roger admits that he has no idea how true the rumors that Rufus will officially join as the new Foo Fighters drummer are.

“Yeah, he played brilliantly with them. He knows all their stuff, knows them all very well,” Roger said.

“He played ‘Best of You’ with the Foos, and it was phenomenal at Wembley, and at The Forum in LA. What really happens now, I don’t know.” he continued.

On the other hand, Foo Fighters have stated that they will continue their journey in the music world even without the late Taylor Hawkins.

“Without Taylor, we will never be the band we were – and without Taylor, we know that we will be a different band in the future,” Foo Fighters concluded.
