Crash Between a Box Car and a Motorcycle Caused in Two Deaths

JABAR EKSPRES – The Traffic Unit of the Kendari City Police (Polresta), Southeast Sulawesi (Polda Sultra) stated that a collision between a box car and a motorcycle resulted in two deaths on the Kendari – South Konawe Regency (Konsel) Axis Road.

The accident occurred in Tanea Village, Konda Subdistrict, Konsel Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, on Thursday (27/4) at around 19.00 Wita.

Kendari Police Traffic Head, AKP Muchsin, in Kendari, Friday (28/4), said that the accident involved a motorcycle with police number DT 5000 NE driven by Hermina (40) and a person named Timin (43).

“The two women collided with a box truck with police number DT 9302 KE driven by a man named Roky Muizzu (31) and accompanied by a man named Risno (28),” Muchsin said.

He revealed that the accident began when the motorcyclist was moving from north to south or from Konda Subdistrict to Laeya Subdistrict, from the opposite direction a box truck driven by Roky Muizzu was moving at medium speed.

“At the scene of the accident, the driver of the box truck tried to precede the minibus vehicle in front of him, so it collided with a motorcycle moving from the opposite direction and a traffic accident occurred at that place,” Muchsin said.

For this incident, he continued, the motorcyclist and his passenger were declared dead because they suffered serious injuries.

“The motorcyclist named Hermina suffered injuries and a broken right leg, while the passenger suffered injuries to his right leg,” he said.

Kasat Lantas Polresta Kendari explained that after the accident, the driver of the box truck and his passenger had fled towards the forest and called his colleague for help.

“He called his office friend and was picked up and escorted to Kendari Police Station,” Muchsin said.
