JABAR EKSPRES – A baby who was 38 days old was declared dead after falling into a coma and undergone treatment at Lamongan Hospital, Thursday (27/4).
It is suspected that the cause of death of the baby with the initial N was due to the sound of a loud explosion of firecrackers coming from his own neighbor.
According to his information, the victim, who was still a baby, was sleeping in his room after his parents performed the evening prayer on Saturday (22/4).
His neighbor, with the initials T (45), set off a large firecracker two houses away from the victim’s house in the west alley of Jatirembe Village, Benjeng, Gresik.
The sound of the explosion was so loud that it caused the baby to immediately have convulsions and be rushed to the hospital.
“The eye on the right can’t be literate, and the tongue can’t be given upwards to drink,” explained Nufus, a representative from the victim’s family.
Before being rushed to the hospital, the second child of the couple Hasim (34) and Faizah (28) was brought to the clinic, but because it was closed they brought it to the midwife.
While at the midwife, the baby’s condition worsened and on Tuesday (25/4) he was taken to the hospital on Jalan Wahidin Sudirohusodo and given additional blood platelets.
N was finally referred to the Muhammadiyah Lamongan Hospital, Wednesday (26/4) afternoon, because the hospital previously did not have a ventilator. As soon as he entered the ICU, the child was already in a coma.
“(At the time of) the CT scan the blood vessels broke, it was thought that there was a collision. (Apparently) I was shocked (to hear) the sound of fireworks until the blood vessels burst,” added Nufus.
From the information obtained, there was no clash after the sound of the explosion from the firecrackers. The ash from the firecrackers also reportedly entered the house.
