JABAR EKSPRES — Thousands of Muslim followers of Thariqat Syattariyah in Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh Province, on Thursday morning have performed Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijriah prayers at the Peuleukung Mosque Complex, East Seunagan District, local district.
“Today’s Eid al-Fitr prayer was held after we did the hisab with the number five method,” said Teuku Raja Keumangan, grandson of Abu Habib Muda Seunagan, in Nagan Raya, Thursday (20/4).
He explained that Thariqat Syattariyah, which was previously introduced by Abu Habib Muda Seunagan, has been followed by thousands of Muslims in Nagan Raya Regency.

Apart from Nagan Raya, he said, followers of Thariqat Syattariyah are also scattered in a number of districts / cities in Aceh Province, including West Aceh, Southwest Aceh, Gayo Lues, Central Aceh, and Southeast Aceh. They had also performed the Eid al-Fitr prayer on Thursday morning.
Teuku Raja Keumangan said that Thariqat Syattariyah has existed in Aceh for 200 years.
Although the implementation of Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijri is often held differently from other Muslims in Aceh, Teuku Raja Keumangan said this has not been a problem in the community.
“In West Aceh and Nagan Raya there has been no problem (celebrating Eid differently),” said Teuku Raja Keumangan.
