JABAR EKSPRES – Indonesian senior actress, Nani Wijaya, has passed away on Thursday (16/3) morning at RS Fatmawati, South Jakarta.
Her daughter, Cahya Kamila posted on Instagram, sharing the news of her mother’s passing.
“INNALILLAHIWAINAILAIHIROJIUN Our beloved mother has passed away, Ibu Hj. Nani Widjaja. At RS Fatmawati 16 March 2023 on 3.28 a.m. Please forgive all her wrongdoings intentionally or mistakenly,” Cahya wrote on Instagram, Thursday (16/3).
Nani Wijaya was one of many Indonesian legendary actresses that has made local entertainment popular in the Indonesian media. Born on November 10th, 1944 in Cirebon, West Java.
She started off her acting career as a supporting character in Darah Tinggi (1960) and got her first main role in Di Balik Dinding Sekolah (about 1962-1968).
On 2002, she garnered a huge popularity from the famous Indonesian sitcom Bajaj Bajuri (2002) which where she played as Emak Oneng.
She was also known as one of the member of the Golden Girls Indonesia, consisting of Connie Sutedja, Rina Hassim, the late Ida Kusumah, and the recently passed away Nani Wijaya herself.
Connie Sutedja came to her condolences on Thursday noon, she was seen crying on her wheelchair. Connie expressed to the media that she regrets that she couldn’t be there for Nani on her last moments, although her home is very close to the Fatmawati Hospital but were not allowed to go inside.
