JABAR EKSPRES – Since a few months ago, the Indonesian media has always been busy with news about the shooting of Brigadier J. The Ferdy Sambo case has always succeeded in capturing the attention of the Indonesian people.
Ferdy Sambo is a former Head of the Propam Polri division who was forced to resign from his position because of the heinous acts he had committed. Not alone, he, along with several people, including his own wife, Putri Chandrawati, killed Brigadier J.
Yesterday, Sambo legally received the death sentence from a judge in his trial at the South Jakarta District Court.
The verdict that the judge gave was far heavier than the demands of the public prosecutor. Previously, Ferdy Sambo was sentenced to life imprisonment for the disappearance of a person, namely Brigadier J.
In the trial of the murder case of Brigadier J, judge Wahyu stated that Ferdy Sambo was legally proven to have committed premeditated murder. The decision led to the indictment contained in Article 340 junction Article 55 paragraph 1 1 of the Criminal Code.
“Put down the sentence for the defendant Ferdy Sambo SH, SiK, M.H., sentenced to death,” the verdict of the Chief Justice of the Panel of Judges Wahyu Iman Santoso was in court.
Interestingly, this former senior police officer received this verdict a few days after his 50th birthday. Meanwhile, his wife, Putri Chandrawati, was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Is it true that Ferdy Sambo will not receive the death penalty?
However, even after receiving this death sentence, the case of Brigadier J’s murder was not over. The reason is that Sambo still has the opportunity to appeal and cassation against the judge’s decision.
If Ferdy Sambo is not satisfied with the judge’s verdict at the South Jakarta District Court, he can appeal to the High Court.
