Thailand Parliament Welcomes Indonesian Embassy’s Active Role in Bilateral Relations

Jabar Ekspres – The active role and contribution of the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok in improving bilateral relations between Indonesia and Thailand was positively welcomed and appreciated by the Speaker of the Parliament of Thailand / House of Representatives of Thailand, Wan Muhammad Noor Matha.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Thailand accredited to UNESCAP Rachmat Budiman held a courtesy call meeting with Wan Muhammad Noor Matha.

The meeting at the Thai Parliament Building took place in an atmosphere of intimacy. The issues discussed at the meeting included friendly relations between the two countries, bilateral cooperation, and increased inter-parliamentary cooperation, according to a written statement from the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok on Monday.

At the meeting, Rachmat invited Wan Muhammad Noor Matha to a series of promotional activities for Indonesian trade, tourism, investment and culture ‘Trade, Tourism, Investment and Cultural Forum’ (TTICF) which will be held by the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok in September-October.

The activities include the Business Forum ‘Investment Opportunities in the Capital of the Archipelago’ on September 15, ‘Indonesian Cultural Night’ on September 17 and ‘Thailand Collaborative Painting Exhibition’ on October 4-29.

On that occasion, the Speaker of the Thai Parliament also confirmed his presence as well as giving a speech as Guest of Honour at a diplomatic reception in commemoration of the 78th Indonesian Independence Day which will be held at Centara Grand on August 29.

Wan Muhammad Noor Matha began serving as Speaker of the House of Representatives/Parliament of Thailand since July 5, 2023 and recently visited Jakarta to attend an invitation to the 44th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) meeting.

During his visit, Wan Noor also had the opportunity to make a courtesy call with Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
