BMKG Warns of Heavy Rainfall Potential in Aceh

JABAR EKSPRES – The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has issued a warning regarding the potential for heavy rainfall that is expected to hit Aceh Province. The public is urged to be aware of hydrometeorological disasters such as floods and strong winds.

BMKG Class I Sultan Iskandar Muda Aceh Besar forecaster Nuria explained that the heavy rainfall is caused by atmospheric disturbances, namely Kelvin waves that bring rain clouds. This can cause heavy rain, strong winds, and high waves in some areas of Aceh.
