Ace Hasan Asks PPIH to Pay Attention to The Needs of Elderly Pilgrims

He said the experience of the Hajj pilgrimage from year to year, many pilgrims experience fatigue and dehydration – a condition of the body lacking fluids.

“The officers must be really alert,” the Deputy Chairman of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives also said.

He went on to say that after staying overnight in Mina and throwing jumrah, pilgrims will continue their worship, namely tawaf ifadhah and sa’i at the Grand Mosque. That stage, according to him, is important to be a concern of PPIH because pilgrims are required to have high stamina.

Therefore, in addition to asking the Hajj organizing committee to remain alert and vigilant, Ace Hasan also reminded pilgrims to maintain their health.

“We urge pilgrims to maintain their health and use the time during the mabit in Mina to rest and dhikr,” he said.

As many as 2 million pilgrims from around the world on Wednesday turned to Mina to throw the Aqabah jumrah, which is part of the peak of the hajj.

On Eid al-Adha (the 10th day of Dhulhijjah), pilgrims must throw the Aqabah Jumrah with seven pebbles at a pillar symbolizing Satan.

After throwing the Aqabah Jumrah, pilgrims continue with tahalul or shaving their hair known as tahalul awal and removing ihram clothes with ordinary clothes.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs on a different occasion confirmed that Indonesian pilgrims had left Muzdalifah, after previously being held up due to the bus that would transport them to Mina being stuck in traffic.

“Alhamdulillah, the traffic jam has been cleared. Buses have started to bring pilgrims to Mina,” Director General of Hajj and Umrah Hilman Latief said in a written release received by Indonesia Window here.

He said that on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Saudi Arabia time, all Indonesian pilgrims had boarded the bus to Mina.
