Minister of Religious Affairs Checks The Preparation of Tents and Toilets in Arafat

The addition of toilet facilities, the Minister continued, is very important, because Indonesian pilgrims are mostly women and in general require a longer time when in the toilet, compared to men.

“This is good, wider and cleaner than before. Alhamdulillah, hopefully our pilgrims can worship well. Toilets are also prepared for the disabled,” explained Gus Men, his nickname.

Arriving at Arafat at around 5:30 p.m. Saudi Arabia Time, the Minister first reviewed the readiness of the tents for Indonesian pilgrims. The Minister of Religious Affairs saw that the tents had been carpeted with red carpet and equipped with foam mattresses.

The Minister also had time to sit on a mattress to try the quality of the bedding that had been prepared and this mattress service was provided for the first time by Masyariq in organizing the 1443 H/2022 M Hajj.

“The tent facilities are clearly cooler. There is an additional air conditioner in the tent, so it is cooler. H-2 before wukuf in Arafat, God willing, everything is ready to finish. There are no worries. We will check again on the second day. Hopefully, what was conveyed by Masyariq will be realized,” he said.

In addition to tents and toilets, the Minister of Religious Affairs also saw the preparation of the Arafat kitchen. During Arafat, food for pilgrims is cooked in kitchens that have been prepared, so the readiness of the kitchen is very important because it is related to the logistics of pilgrims.

“I also saw the kitchen. The kitchen is also clean and decent compared to when I was a regular pilgrim in 2004. This is very much different. Alhamdulillah, hopefully our pilgrims can be well served,” he hoped.

The Minister of Religious Affairs and his staff also tried additional facilities in the form of golf carts that will be used to help the mobility of pilgrims.
