Denpasar Government Involves 200 Artists in Bali Arts Festival Parade

JABAR EKSPRES – The Denpasar City Government involved around 200 artists performing in the peed aya (parade) of the Bali Arts Festival 2023 which was opened by the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri, in front of the Bali People’s Struggle Monument Niti Mandala Denpasar, Sunday.

Denpasar City Peed Aya Coordinator Ida Bagus Eka Harista, in Denpasar on Sunday, said Danacitta Segara, Multicultural Civilization, and Creative Economy was the title of the parade performed by the artists.

“In particular, this theme tells the story of the meeting of Sanur saints and artists, namely Ida Pedanda Made Sidemen with foreign artists Le-Mayeur, John Cost, and others as a form of the process of multicultural civilization in Denpasar City,” he said.

From this meeting, Eka said, it brought the impact of the fame of Sanur Beach to all beaches close to Sanur.

“Sanur artists also began to carry out development in the context of infrastructure, art, and culture so that the development of tourist attractions began to be formed,” he said.

According to him, the title of the parade is also packed with fashionable dance creations and carnival with multicultural nuances (Balinese and outside Bali).

Beginning with the Denpasar City signboard, the Denpasar City Ambassador peed aya series featured a Balinese Payas Agung fashion show typical of Denpasar City and continued with Sekar Jempiring dancers as the mascot of Denpasar City.

Furthermore, there is a Janur Carnival costume accompanied by Adi Merdangga Children’s Gamelan.

In addition, there was also a procession of Tenggek Bird dancers, Water dancers, and Legong Le Mayeur dancers. As the last offering, the ogoh-ogoh by STT. Belaluan Sad Merta.

“We as the organizers combine dance art works that are packaged in a parade or peed aya PKB XLIV, which is certainly adapted to the theme of Segara Kerthi, Prabhaneka Sandhi, Samudra Cipta Peradaban,” he said.
