JABAR EKSPRES – A parade of Nusantara arts and culture involving students, community members, and officials of regional apparatus organizations enlivened the 341st birthday celebration of Bandarlampung City in Lampung Province.
The parade participants, among others, displayed pencak silat, lumping horse, and debus attractions as well as drum bands and decorated cars on Jalan Ahmad Yani, Bandarlampung City, Sunday.
“Bandarlampung as the provincial capital is certainly inhabited by various ethnic communities that have a variety of cultures, therefore in the 341st anniversary series the city government held art and cultural attractions and an ornamental car carnival for the public to enjoy,” said Mayor Eva Dwiana.

She argued that organizing the arts and culture parade was part of the city government’s efforts to preserve traditional arts and culture inherited from the ancestors.
“Art and culture in Indonesia have existed since our ancestors, but now it is starting to fade…. Well, our efforts to maintain traditional values, one of which is with the Begawi Bandarlampung activity,” he said.
Begawi Bandarlampung, he said, is also expected to be a forum for communication in efforts to preserve the archipelago’s culture in Bandarlampung City.
In addition, he said, organizing activities such as cultural festivals on a regular basis is aimed at attracting tourists to visit the city.
“The diversity of arts and culture in Bandarlampung is an invaluable asset, so it must be maintained and preserved,” he said.
