Mukomuko District Government Organizes Air Punggur Beach

JABAR EKSPRES – The government of Mukomuko Regency, Bengkulu Province has begun to organize Air Punggur Beach by moving traders to another place in order to maintain the beauty of the beach which is a recreational spot for local and outside the area.

“We just need to socialize it, then we will give the traders time to move from that location,” said Head of the Mukomuko Regency Pamong Praja Police Unit Suryanto in Mukomuko, Friday (6/9).

The Mukomuko Regency Pamong Praja Police Unit previously visited traders who erected illegal buildings along Air Punggur Beach.

It gave a maximum of one month to the traders to move the buildings. If a month passed, Satpol PP personnel dismantled the building.

Although not many traders have set up trading places along Air Punggur Beach, he said, the more it is allowed, the more traders will do so at that location.

“There are about seven traders but now we are relocating them to anticipate traders growing in that location,” he said.

His party previously wanted to dismantle illegal buildings owned by traders, but was constrained by their demands for compensation to the government.

For this reason, his party asked the traders to dismantle the buildings themselves so that the government would not lose much as well as the people who built the buildings.

He said the traders were given the opportunity to move the buildings across the road adjacent to land owned by PT Agro Muko, an oil palm plantation company in this area.

“They can move across the road and use the location but do not take the land use right belonging to PT Agro Muko,” he said.

He explained that currently the location of Air Punggur Beach on Jalan Lintas Sumatera, which connects Bengkulu Province and West Sumatra Province, looks like a slum.
