JABAR EKSPRES – The Aceh Provincial Livestock Service Office has deployed a team to check the health of sacrificial animals and the needs of the Meugang Tradition for Eid al-Adha 1444 Hijri or 2023 AD.
Head of Aceh Provincial Livestock Service Office Zalsufran in Banda Aceh, Friday (6/9), said the health checks are to ensure the meat is fit for consumption.
“We deployed a health team to check sacrificial animals and Meugang meat for Eid al-Adha. The examination is to ensure that sacrificial animals and Meugang are really healthy,” he said.
He said the inspection was carried out by visiting livestock centers, animal markets, and slaughterhouses in Aceh Province.

“From the results of the inspection, the Livestock Service Office will issue a certificate, especially for animals that are declared healthy,” he said.
Zalsufran urged the public not to trade livestock that have not been examined for health to prevent the slaughter of sick livestock whose meat is unsafe for consumption.
“For people who buy animals for sacrifice or Meugang Tradition needs later, make sure the health of the animals, either by physically checking the animals or with a health certificate,” he said.
In addition, the public is encouraged to slaughter animals in government-owned or official slaughterhouses because animals slaughtered in official slaughterhouses have been confirmed healthy.
“We will also deploy a team to monitor the animal slaughter process later, both during the Meugang Tradition celebrated the day before Eid al-Adha and during the sacrifice later,” he said.
