The seven protected orchids are Paraphalaenopsis laycocki, Paraphalaenopsis labukensis, and Paraphalaenopsis serpentilingua, the three species are mouse orchids that are now difficult to obtain.
Furthermore, Phalaennopsis gigantea or Elephant Moon Orchid, Coelogyne pandurata or Black Orchid, Spatthoglottis aurea or Yellow Earth Orchid, and Grammatophylium speciosum.
As one of the efforts to preserve the existence of orchids typical of the Meratus Mountains of South Kalimantan, H Hasan Basry Regional General Hospital Kandangan, Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency (HSS) together with the local DPC PAI made an orchid conservation garden.

Kandangan General Hospital and DPC PAI HSS planted 2,000 orchid seedlings consisting of 50 species to preserve the ornamental plants in the local government hospital.
Director of Hasan Basry Kandangan Hospital, Rasyidah, said the hospital cooperates with PAI HSS for orchid care by traveling around every week.
“So if an orchid dies, it will be replanted so that it can continue to grow and develop well,” said Rasyidah.
So far, PAI South Kalimantan has eight DPCs and has two orchid conservation parks in Batu Benawa Pagat and Kandangan Hospital.
