JABAR EKSPRES – The initiator of the Garudayaksa academy who is also the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia (RI), Prabowo Subianto, visited Garudayaksa-Persib players at Aspire Academy, Qatar.
“I am proud and happy. You being here is part of my promise. Feel and enjoy the world-class luxury facilities here,” Prabowo Subianto said through a written statement, Thursday (6/1).
Aspire Academy is a sports training complex in Qatar with luxurious and modern facilities that accommodate thousands of potential athletes every year. Especially for football, at least 50 clubs come to Aspire every year.
During the visit, Prabowo received a question from Persib U-17 captain Mohammad Akram about when Indonesia would have complete and modern facilities like Aspire academy.

Prabowo said that God willing, Indonesia will soon have modern soccer facilities that can support footballers, especially potential young players.
While watching the training of the Garudayaksa-Persib children, Prabowo also received many explanations from the Director General of Aspire Academy who is also the Technical Director of the Qatar National Team Ivan Bravo regarding the development of potential young players.
Prabowo explained that soon the Nusantara Open 2022 finalist, PSLS Lhokseumawe will also be sent to study at Aspire Academy.
Chairman of the Garudayaksa-Persib Delegation Fary Francis added that the Indonesian U-16 national team will also be sent to the academy in Qatar.
“All of this is for the sake of Indonesia, for the sake of Indonesian football, for my big dream of bringing the Indonesian national team to the World Cup,” Prabowo said.
Indonesian U-23 national team coach Indra Sjafri accompanied Prabowo Subianto to see the development of the young players who are studying at Aspire Academy.
“He (Prabowo) is a great figure whose attention is very great for the progress of Indonesian football,” Indra Sjafri said.
