JABAR EKSPRES – Member of the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) Totok Hariyanto asked the public not to be afraid to report alleged violations of general elections (elections), such as election participants distributing basic necessities or money politics with sufficient evidence.
“Just report it, don’t be afraid. If someone is distributing groceries, report it,” Totok said at the Smart Choices Movement event at the Abdul Rahman Saleh Auditorium of LPP RRI Jakarta, (5/31)
He emphasized that the public does not need to be confused to report, if there are election violations. Because, the election supervisory office already exists to remote areas.
“The name of the election supervisor is at the village, sub-district level. If there is an election violation, just report it, that’s it,” he said.
Previously, President Director of the Radio Republik Indonesia Public Broadcasting Corporation (LPP RRI) I Hendrasmo said the Smart Choosing Movement organized by RRI could encourage people’s participation in the 2024 elections.
“The Smart Choosing Movement is to help increase political awareness, so that people can make wiser decisions in choosing candidates,” Hendrasmo said when giving a speech at the Smart Choosing Movement event at the Abdul Rahman Saleh Auditorium of LPP RRI Jakarta, (5/31)
According to him, the Smart Choosing Movement event is a form of RRI helping to provide an understanding of elections to the public, especially young voters.
He added that RRI also as a mass communication media has an important role in shaping public opinion and encouraging public participation in elections so that they can use their voting rights correctly.
“From there, it is expected to be able to produce leaders with quality and integrity to lead Indonesia for the next five years,” he said.
Hendrasmo said the Smart Voting Movement also aims to encourage transparency and accountability in the electoral process through the delivery of information on election mechanisms, vote counting procedures, and election supervision.
