Indosat-Mastercard Partnership to Boost Digital Payments

JABAR EKSPRES – Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat) and Mastercard announced a strategic partnership to drive digital payment experiences and support consumers and businesses in the digital economy to increase financial inclusion in Indonesia.

“This strategic collaboration is in line with our larger goal to connect and empower Indonesia by accelerating the nation’s digital transformation,” Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison President Director and CEO Vikram Sinha said in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday (5/25).

He said the partnership is important as improving digital skills and expanding financial inclusion, especially in rural areas, are key to unlocking and maximizing the potential of every Indonesian.

“With the spirit of gotong royong, this joint effort with Mastercard will enable us to create seamless financial solutions to accelerate the growth of Indonesia’s digital economy,” he said.

The collaboration between Indosat and Mastercard is designed to help improve security standards and build higher trust among all users across the digital ecosystem to create a safer and more inclusive digital economy that everyone can join and benefit from.

Both organizations are committed to introducing scalable products and solutions that combine best-in-class safety and cybersecurity capabilities, to provide a safe and seamless digital experience that suits the lifestyles, ways of working and transacting of consumers and businesses in today’s digital age.

Furthermore, the Indosat and Mastercard partnership aims to support SMEs by providing them with the latest tools and resources to compete in the post-pandemic digital-first world.

The two organizations will also explore solutions for consumers on the use of digital payments with cards and account-based payments, increased access to credit such as through Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL), increased security on payment methods, and solutions that offer engagement and rewards for consumers.

Meanwhile, for businesses, the collaboration will introduce solutions that drive digital payment adoption, assist businesses in managing their online or digital presence, increase access to credit, as well as provide other business productivity solutions such as accounting and expense management.
