Munggahan is a term in which it always comes when ramadhan comes. It means that Indonesian people will do some preparations before facing ramadhan.

It involves preparations of feed and stuff in which needed to make fasting activities later become more steady.

Buka Bersama

This one means that Indonesian people will break their fasting together when ramadhan comes.

They will call each other before the fasting time. For example, the will talk each other, “Hey, when will you free? Let’s do fasting together!”

Then they will decide recommended places to do their fasting time. This tradition is unique because it can be a moment where you can meet with your old friends, let’s call it reunion.

In other words, buka bersama becomes silaturahmi or silaturahim with old friends or colleagues.

Mudik

In Indonesia, you can never talk about ramadhan if you don’t talk about mudik. You might call this term as couple of ramadhan in Indonesia.

Mudik is a term used in Indonesia to refer to the annual tradition of returning to one’s hometown or village during major holidays, such as Eid al-Fitr.

It is a time when people who work in cities or other regions return to their hometowns to visit their families and loved ones, and to celebrate the holiday together.
