FIFA Officially Bans Beer During World Cup Qatar

Jabarekspres.com- Beer is banned at the Qatar World Cup. The International Football Federation (FIFA) has officially banned the sale of beer at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

This announcement was officially issued by FIFA exactly two days before the inaugural kick-off of the 2022 World Cup after discussions with Qatar as the host. It is known, Qatar is a Muslim country that has strict rules regarding alcohol.

“Following discussions between the authorities of the host country (Qatar) and FIFA, a decision has been made to focus on the sale of alcoholic beverages at the FIFA Fan Festival,” FIFA said in a statement.

“Other spectator entertainment locations and licensed venues, remove the point of sale of beer from the stadium boundaries of Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup,” the statement continued.

Budweiser, which is the main sponsor of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar, cannot sell its products during the event. As a solution, the organizers provide other drinks such as Coca Cola and other soft drinks.

However, the policy was finally revised after lengthy negotiations between FIFA President, Gianni Infantino; Budweiser; and the Executive of the Supreme Committee of Qatar. However, as already mentioned, Budweiser will still be allowed to sell alcoholic beer in the FIFA FAN Fest zone in downtown Doha. Sales can also be done at designated entertainment venues.
