JABAR EKSPRES – Singaporean singer-songwriter Alicia DC returns with a new single ‘bodyclock’, marking a new phase in her songwriting career as she explores a more acoustic approach in her arrangement.
Having explored the alternative jazz and pop genres in her previous works, Alicia now adopts a more vulnerable approach as a musician, as she places more focus on her sound as a singer, with an emphasis on her dramatic vocals on this track, paired with captivating grooves that will draw the listener in.
“Written in a 6/8 pop-ballad style with a hint of soul, ‘bodyclock’ is an alternative piece of work that is probably my biggest acoustic music project yet. It is inspired by the sleepless nights I faced after having to deal with toxic people in my life, as well as the anxiety that it caused me. This track offers listeners a glimpse into my inner thoughts, and I also hope to catch their attention with its tight groove that can be cathartic for those who can relate to how I feel.”
