JABAR EKSPRES – The ‘Drag Race‘ and ‘Drag Bike Championships‘ held in Musirawas Regency on August 26-27, 2023 by South Sumatra youth leader Andi Asmara, successfully held this competition by breaking the national record.
The national record was broken in the first round of the Monster Diesel 3,500 CC class ‘drag race’ with a record time of 7.089 seconds on behalf of Budi from HJA Racing Team, said Andi Asmara, in Musirawas, Sunday (8/27).
He explained, the activity which was held in order to enliven the commemoration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia (HUT RI) was held at the Non Permanent Circuit of Muara Beliti Mosque Roundabout, Musirawas Regency, South Sumatra.

The competition is a form of commitment to support young people to channel their hobbies in the automotive field, as well as preventing illegal racing among young people.
The event was held in collaboration with the South Sumatra Motorcycle Association (IMI) to provide opportunities for young people to compete in a healthy and sporty manner.
Then, the momentum of the crowd during the car and motorcycle racing event, provided free trading places / stalls for dozens of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to support the economy of local communities in Musi Rawas Regency.
Andi hopes that the event will benefit the entire community, both through participation in the competition, watching the event, and trading around the location of the prestigious event.
“I will continue to support the organization of automotive activities and encourage the construction of international standard circuits in South Sumatra. I will also increase the development of MSMEs to provide opportunities for business actors,” the coal businessman also said.
The first day of the automotive sports championship, Saturday (8/26), a ‘drag race’ competition was held which was attended by more than 200 participants from various regions such as Palembang City, Lubuk Linggau, Musi Rawas Regency, and outside South Sumatra, namely Bengkulu City.
