As Russia plays politics, Thomas-Greenfield said, people will suffer, including children in the Horn of Africa region who are acutely malnourished, mothers who will stop producing milk for their babies because they are not getting enough nutrients from food.
“The world needs the Black Sea Grains Initiative, and all (UN) member states should unite and urge Russia to reverse its decision, resume negotiations, extend, expand and fully implement the initiative,” the US envoy said.
