Jabar Ekspres – A total of 134 Malaysians were victims of a job scam syndicate in the Philippines and were rescued by local police during a raid on a suspected human trafficking company.
The Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) in a statement received in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday said the Malaysian Embassy in Manila was identifying and verifying the status of 134 victims believed to be Malaysian citizens.

A total of 2,714 people have fallen victim to the crime syndicate of fraudulent job offers, forced labor and wrongful imprisonment in the Philippines, of which 134 are Malaysians.
The Malaysian Embassy in Manila, according to KLN, confirmed that local authorities conducted a raid on the Xinchuang Network Technology Inc company and successfully rescued victims from various countries, including Malaysia, by the crime syndicate.
The victims of the job scam syndicate are now undergoing investigation, paperwork and deportation to Malaysia in the near future, according to the statement.
Local Philippine media reported that local authorities raided a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (Pogo) company whose founder is registered as Xinchuang Network Technology Inc, on Tuesday (June 27) morning.
The report said the Philippine Police rescued 2,717 people of which 1,525 were Filipinos and 1,192 were foreigners.
Of the foreigners they managed to save, 606 were from China, 183 from Vietnam and 137 were Indonesian citizens.
