JABAR EKSPRES – Stocks on the UK stock exchange ended in positive territory on Tuesday (6/13/2023) trading local time, posting gains for the second consecutive day, with the benchmark FTSE 100 index on the London Stock Exchange lifted 0.32 or 24.09 points to settle at 7,594.78 points.
The FTSE 100 index gained 0.11 percent or 8.33 points to 7,570.69 points on Monday (6/12/2023), after shedding 0.49 percent or 37.38 points to 7,562.36 points on Friday (6/9/2023), and reduced 0.32 percent or 24.60 points to 7,599.74 points on Thursday (6/8/2023).
Glencore PLC, a Swiss multinational commodity trading and mining company with headquarters in Baar, Switzerland, soared 5.28 percent, becoming the top gainer among blue chips.
Followed by shares of mining company that owns and operates copper mines in Chile and conducts exploration activities in Chile and Peru, Antofagasta PLC jumped 3.54 percent; and British multinational mining company Anglo American PLC added 2.75 percent.
Meanwhile, Evraz PLC, a British multinational steel manufacturing and mining company partly owned by Russian oligarchs posted the biggest loss (top loser) among the leading stocks, with its share price tumbling 12.59 percent.
Followed by shares of financial services company that provides car insurance products to customers around the world Admiral Group PLC slipped 5.11 percent; and British property and housing developer fell 4.38 percent.
