JABAR EKSPRES – The West Sulawesi Provincial Government has formed a task force for handling stunting in every sub-district in West Sulawesi Province.
“The West Sulawesi government formed a task force to handle stunting in each sub-district so that the stunting rate in West Sulawesi can be suppressed,” said acting Governor of West Sulawesi, Zudan Arif Fakhrullah in Mamuju, Thursday (6/8).
He said the West Sulawesi government focused on handling stunting as a priority program because the stunting rate in West Sulawesi was the second highest in Indonesia after East Nusa Tenggara Province.

Based on the results of the Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI) in 2022 conducted by the Ministry of Health, West Sulawesi’s stunting prevalence is still 35 percent.
According to him, the West Sulawesi government will also mobilize all state civil apparatus (ASN) to handle every one person who is at risk of stunting.
“Every regional apparatus organization (OPD) in West Sulawesi will handle stunting in every sub-district of West Sulawesi by conducting various government program interventions,” he said.
He said, in addition to trying to reduce the stunting rate, the West Sulawesi government will also handle various other development problems.
“A number of problems such as extreme poverty, school dropouts, as well as prevention of inflation and early marriage,” he said.
The governor said, all of these development priorities will be intervened to be handled to realize increased development in West Sulawesi.
