JABAR EKSPRES – The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) through the Bali Creative Industry Center (BCIC) continues to support fashion and craft small and medium industries (SMIs) to upgrade, one of which is by building communities and creative ecosystems.
The Bali Creative Industry Center (BCIC) has two flagship programs, namely the Indonesia Fashion and Craft Awards (IFCA) and the Creative Business Incubator (CBI) which have produced young creative designers who are encouraged to form creative communities in several cities.
“So it will be easier to conduct further coaching and increase networking and collaboration opportunities. As an initial initiation, we through BCIC held an alumni gathering event entitled BCIC Family Gathering,” said Director General of Small, Medium and Miscellaneous Industries (IKMA) of the Ministry of Industry Reni Yanita in a statement in Jakarta, Thursday.
Reni explained that IFCA is a design competition program that has a vision of sustainability, while CBI is a business incubation program that aims to increase the business capacity of fashion and craft SMI players through training and mentoring.
This year, the Directorate General of IKMA again held the IFCA program with the theme “Neighbourhood Spirit”, which has a vision to encourage designers to care and collaborate with SMIs in the surrounding environment, so as to create innovative product designs.
Meanwhile, the CBI program has entered the mentoring stage for CBI 2022 tenants who have passed the class program stage.
“In both programs, participants are accompanied by mentors and a team of judges from academics and professional practitioners,” she added.
Reni said that the BCIC Family Gathering alumni gathering is a place to stay in touch between BCIC tenants who participated in IFCA and CBI from 2018-2022.
She hopes that this opportunity will become a place for creative tenants to share experiences, as well as a forum for discussion with the Ministry of Industry and BCIC.
