EoS Film Festival Becomes a Venue for Cultural Communication Between Europe-Indonesia

“We are determined to continue this festival to be able to reach Indonesian audiences through culture, including reaching people from all walks of life from young and old,” he said.

“Most importantly, the films in this festival are not typical Hollywood blockbusters with almost predictable scenarios,” Piket added.

He views that the EoS festival, which brings a diversity of film genres, has its own meaning for Indonesian audiences. Piket hopes that the EoS festival will be well received by Indonesian audiences who will not only stop at this year but can return to enjoy the festival in the following years.

Europe on Screen (EoS) will be held from June 16-25, 2023 by presenting 73 film programs from 24 European countries that will be screened in seven cities in Indonesia, namely Jakarta, Bandung, Bekasi, Denpasar, Medan, Surabaya, and Yogyakarta.

In addition to European films, the EoS festival will screen three short films selected by young Indonesian filmmakers from the Short Film Pitching Project 2022 program, namely “Dengung Bee” (Buzzing Bee), “Passing”, and “Make a Wish”.
