JABAR EKSPRES – The National Police’s Special Detachment 88 Antiterror team arrested three suspected terrorists during a law enforcement operation to prevent criminal acts of terrorism in East Java and West Nusa Tenggara.
Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karopenmas) of the National Police’s Public Relations Division Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan said in a statement here on Sunday that the law enforcement efforts were carried out since Wednesday (5/31), Saturday (6/3) and Sunday (6/4).
“On Sunday at 12:05 a.m., one suspected terrorist ES alas L was arrested in Tulungagung Regency, East Java,” Ramadhan said.

The suspect ES alias L was arrested for his involvement in terrorism. He was recorded to have left for Yemen on December 14, 2014 with four of his colleagues, namely HS, AAK MT and MAA facilitated by ABU.
“This information was obtained from the suspected terrorist MT,” said Ramadhan.
However, this information is still being developed by investigators in examining the suspect.
The suspect MT was arrested first on Wednesday (5/31) at around 01.39 WITA in Bina, NTB.
“MT was facilitated by YR to leave for Yemen and join the Al Qaeda branch of the AQAP organization, and currently the development is still ongoing,” said Ramadhan.
The suspected terrorist was arrested on Wednesday (6/3) in the Banyuwangi area, East Java. His initials have not been revealed because investigators are still developing.
“(Identity) does not exist yet. Currently, development is still ongoing,” said Ramadhan.
Ramadhan added that investigators are still exploring the relationship between the three suspects, including the roles of the three suspects and their networks.
The development of information on the results of the arrest will be conveyed immediately after it is submitted by Densus 88 Antiterror Police investigators.
