JABAR EKSPRES – The Hajj Pilgrimage Organizing Committee (PPIH) ensures that no pilgrims will be left behind when taking miqat at Bir Ali or Dzul Hulaifah Mosque before continuing their journey to Mecca.
“Just like last year, there will be no pilgrims left behind, because the bus will not leave before the pilgrims are complete,” said Head of Bir Ali Special Sector of PPIH Saudi Arabia, Aruji Maswatu, Thursday (6/1).
Aruji said there were 1,899 (two of them were delayed because they were treated at King Fahid Hospital in Medina) who moved from Medina to Mecca.
Once off the bus at Bir Ali, pilgrims are directed to perform two rak’ah sunnah prayers at the Prophet’s Mosque. Then they are guided to make the intention of ihram and for elderly pilgrims and those in wheelchairs, the intention of ihram can be done on the bus.

Aruji admitted that the challenge faced at Bir Ali is that there are pilgrims who forget the bus number, even though they have been reminded repeatedly before getting off the bus, there are still passengers who forget.
As experienced by one of the hajj candidates, Ahmad, who forgot his bus number after the sunnah prayer at Bir Ali.
“What number is my bus,” said Ahmad, a Solo embarkation pilgrim who contacted the committee to match his identity with the bus data.
Aruji guarantees that no pilgrims will be left behind at Bir Ali even in crowded conditions.
Miqat makani is the boundary of the place to start the ihram of Hajj or Umrah. For residents of Medina, miqat is taken at Bir Ali.
Indonesian pilgrims who have been in Medina for three days are considered residents of Medina, so the miqat is taken at Bir Ali.
“After the intention of ihram, the prohibition of ihram applies. Men are not allowed to wear head coverings and cover their feet such as shoes. While women may wear socks or shoes,” said Aruji.
