JABAR EKSPRES —The Regent of Sleman, Kustini Sri Purnomo, invites women in the region to be more productive and creative in their work.
“To all women in Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, keep working productively, so that all women in this area can become strong, innovative, and creative women,” said Kustini at the peak of Sleman Regency’s Kartini Day commemoration at the Sleman Regent’s Hall, Tuesday (5/2).
According to her, by continuing to work, being productive and creative, women can show that women have a big role and impact on the wider community.
“We thank you for the contributions that all women have made in their respective fields,” she said.
The Kartini Day commemoration in Sleman Regency this time is themed “Empowered, Smart and Cultured Women to Realize Sleman as a Common Home”.
“This theme is able to provide its own spirit for women. It is hoped that the spirit of Kartini Day can be a strength for women to have a positive impact on themselves and their environment,” she said.
The Sleman Regency Government held a peak event to commemorate the 144th Kartini Day at the Hall of Sleman Regent’s Office.
On the occasion, Sleman Regent Kustini Sri Purnomo and invited female guests attended gracefully wearing kebaya.
Inung Marwoso, Chairperson of the Sleman Branch Leadership Council (DPC) of the Indonesian Women’s Empowerment Forum (FPPI), said that the Kartini Day commemoration was held with the aim of encouraging the realization of gender equality and justice in the family and society.
“In addition, it is also to respect differences and have a spirit of mutual cooperation to realize Sleman as a common home,” she said.
Inung said, in the framework of Kartini Day, FPPI had carried out various series of activities, including social services for orphans and the poor, social services for stunting families, to socialization of gender-aware family simulations and child-friendly families in 17 urban villages.
