JABAR EKSPRES — West Java Deputy Governor Uu Ruzhanul Ulum appreciated the Bandung Police for arresting a foreign national with the initials MBCAA (48 years old) who spat at the mosque imam at the Al-Muhajir Mosque, Buahbatu Subdistrict, Bandung City, for tuning the Qur’an murrotal.
“Thank you to the police for their actions and alertness so that people no longer need to feel uneasy,” said West Java Deputy Governor, Uu Ruzhanul Ulum, in his statement in Bandung, Saturday (29/4).
He hopes that the perpetrator can be dealt with firmly for his actions.
“As a citizen of West Java and part of the Muslim community, I hope that the perpetrator can be dealt with firmly according to the applicable law so that it can be a lesson for the future. Hatur nuhun ka pak police,” he said.
The Deputy Governor of West Java also advised to always maintain tolerance among others and make the case a lesson for all parties.
“This is a lesson for all of us, where the earth is, there the sky is. We must always prioritize tolerance for the habits and beliefs of others, especially when we are guests, travelers, or not in our daily environment. Please let this be a common concern,” he said.
Previously, unpleasant behavior was experienced by an imam at the Al-Muhajir Mosque, Buahbatu District, Bandung City.
The imam received disrespectful treatment after being spat at by a foreigner on Friday (28/4).
The action of this foreigner was recorded by a CCTV camera, then the video went viral on social media. In the video, the Caucasian wearing a hat entered the mosque and immediately approached the pulpit.
