JABAR EKSPRES — The Transportation Office of Medan City, North Sumatra, stated that as many as 2.126 travelers departed on the second day of homecoming program on Eid al-Fitr 1444 H this time, entitled “Mudik Bareng Kota Medan 2023”.
Head of Medan City Transportation Office, Iswar Lubis, said on Thursday (20/4) that thousands of travelers were dispatched using 53 large buses.
“This second day we have 2,126 passengers with the equivalent of 53 large buses, because there are also small buses we use to adjust the trajectory of the city to be addressed,” he explained.
As for the last day on Friday (21/4), he continued, it is planned that 782 travelers will depart from Jalan Masjid Raya Medan.

It was noted that the Mayor of Medan, Bobby Nasution, had released as many as 2,262 free Eid Al-Fitr 1444 H travelers from the “Mudik Bareng Kota Medan 2023” program using 57 buses on Wednesday (19/4).
The 12 destinations for Lebaran travelers through the “Mudik Bareng Medan City Government 2023” program in North Sumatra Province include Medan – Pakpak Bharat, Medan – Sidikalang, Medan – Sibolga, Medan – Sipirok, Medan – Kota Pinang.
Then Medan – Padangsidimpuan, Medan – Tarutung, Medan – Panyabungan, Medan – Natal, Medan – Rantauprapat, Medan – Sibuhuan and Medan – Gunung Tua.
“Tomorrow Friday (21/4), we will depart again using around 20 large buses,” said Iswar.
Leli (21), a student following the free homecoming destination Medan – Panyabungan admitted that the Medan City Government program helps residents who want to Eid in their hometown.
“We are greatly helped by this homecoming program. Moreover, there are three of us siblings who go home, of course it saves us a lot of money,” she explained.
He admitted that he had participated in homecoming with the Medan City Government twice, so he appreciated the Mayor of Medan, Bobby Nasution, who realized this free homecoming program.
“I would like to thank the Mayor of Medan for holding this homecoming program, hopefully this program can continue,” said Leli.
