JABAR EKSPRES —Rider Loris Baz (Bonovo Action BMW) said his fracture recovery is progressing and hopes to recover in order to prepare for the third round of World Superbike at the Dutch TT Assen Circuit, on April 21 to 23.
“My ankle is recovering well and showing improvement every day. I’m happy. Last week, I was allowed to start physio (therapy). This week, I was allowed to ride. Everything is improving. I did some physio and I walked a lot at home. I’m trying to recover from my injury as best I can,” said Baz, quoted from the official WSBK statement on Thursday (6/4).
Previously, the French racer suffered fractures to his right leg and ankle due to a collision incident (crash) with Alex Lowes (Kawasaki Racing) during the second round of the WSBK Superpole Race session at the Mandalika International Circuit, March 5.

Baz added, currently he is trying to focus on restoring strength and stability to his legs and knees. The 30-year-old racer said the pain in the knee that had not fully recovered was bothering him.
“Not much can be done with the knee. The ligament is torn but does not require surgery, it just needs time to heal on its own … It’s not easy. The ankle still hurts and so does the knee, but for sure, since Monday I’ve been allowed to ride again and I have some exercises to help. It’s going in a good way,” he said.
Baz will have to pass further medical examinations for the race in the Netherlands. He said he will continue to regularly do physiotherapy and try to reduce the swelling day by day. The decision to return to competition will be made based on the results of the examination.
