Dipecat Persib, Cole Pilih Langsung Pensiun

BANDUNG – Carlton Cole memilih untuk gantung sepatu. Padahal umur mantan penyerang Persib Bandung pada Liga 1/2017 itu baru berusia 34 tahun.

Setelah didepak Maung Bandung, mantan striker Chelsea itu malah kesulitan mencari klub. Dia pun memilih untuk mengakhiri kariernya lebih cepat.

Akhir Maret 2018 lalu dirinya menulis status mengejutkan di Instagram pribadinya iamcarltoncole12. Dari tulisan yang dia unggah tersebut, Cole memutuskan untuk menggantung sepatu dan memilih focus dengan keluarga.

Well, in football, they always say that your body tells you when it is time to stop playing and to focus on a new chapter in your life. For me, that time is now! It is a decision I have been wrestling with for some time now. It’s a difficult decision to take, but, together with my family, I have now decided to call it a day. Sad, but there you are! I have been fortunate enough to have had a wonderfully exciting career, playing for some great clubs and, of course, for England. Memories that I will treasure forever. I’ve been particularly fortunate to have had a great relationship with the fans over the years especially those at West Ham. I have played with some fabulous players and made some great friends. So, in parting, I would like to thank the clubs, their management, players, coaches, medical staff and, of course, the fans, who have all contributed so much to my career. A special thank you also goes to my family. As for the next chapter in my life, well I’ll be making an announcement about that in the near future. So keep tuned in!!
